QUIET ROADS AND BEAUTIFUL SCENERY

A mixture of the stoney, coastal nature of Bohuslän and the wild deep woods of Dalsland. A travel testing both drivers and cars capability!

THE ELKS .......... AND THEY DO JUMP OUT ONTO THE ROADS IN NO TIME! BE AWARE!

Following is the rally -agenda: (with reservation for minor adjustments in the programme).

We will be staying all the time in the same hotel - only necessary to unpack once! 
The hotel is The VANN SPA HOTEL & CONFERENCE (a four star hotel), a few miles northeast of the coastal town of Lysekil in Bohuslän county, by the shores of the Gullmars fjord.

Set in beautiful nature, furnished in a cool sparse Scandinavian style.  From here we will start our daily excursions and hopefully find our way back home everytime! 
Included in price is also the Spa section, should it be a wish to relax after a days hard driving. Sauna, gym and other activities as tennis, miniaturegolf,  paddle boats. 18-hole golfcourse  also available at Torreby Slott at extra cost, bring own clubs.

There will be a guard on duty night time to look after our cars, so you can sleep in peace!

Arrival from 3p.m. at hotel, check-in, rallyplates, rallybags, nametags, etc.   Dinner will be served from 7 p.m., buffet-style as we all arrive at different times, it's free sitting.

Breakfast  buffet 07.00am- 09.00 am.  
At 09.30 sharp, we start our tour for the day, with convoy (old cars in front followed by modern ones) on to the forrest roads of Dalsland and the Elkpark in Ed,  where "Elkvis" and his friends are awaiting our visit! 
The propriotor Thomas Mossberg,will guide us through the park and we will be in time for the feeding of these "Kings of the woods". 

Thereafter we will  be fed!  Lunch will be served around the grill, rusticly furnished (comfortable clothing recommended!). On the menu ...... well, why not? ....... Elksausage of course! 
Thomas will also entertain us whilst eating with his (un)believable elkhuntingstories?!! ....... After all this, rest of day is free to either drive into the little villiage of Ed, where once our old King Karl XII stayed, fighting the Norwegians, visit an interesting motorcycle museum, or alternatively drive back towards Bohuslän, the villiage of Tanumshede and check out the stonecarvings!

WATCH OUT FOR ELKS!

We meet up in the hotel for an adventurous dinner in the theme of "THE   VIKINGS" At 7.30 pm. 

On this evening we expect our members to increase with meeting our Swedish members who could not attend full rally. Welcome address by chairman of the Swedish section.

Breakfast buffet 07.00- 09.00 am. At sharp 10.00 am we start our convoy towards Lysekil and the little carferry across to Bokenäset, and onwards to Uddevalla town. 
We have special permission to "park pretty" on the town square between 12 - 3 pm,  for public to look at our cars (and admire?). During these hours feel free to walk around the little town, have lunch or coffee, visit the Bohuslän Museum or the House of the Sea. Have lunch in the many "cafes" in pedestrian area.

We will meet up at the hotel for cocktails at 7 pm and then a shellfish-buffet will be served at the seaside. (Weather permitting)

Late afternoon we drive back on the forrest roads along the Bullare-lakes - a very pretty and scenic road -  ELKWARNING!

Meet up in hotel, general bar hang-out followed by BBQ at 7.30 pm -weather permitting.

Breakfast buffet. At sharp 10.00 am departure in convoy towards Dalsland and the aqueduct in Håverud. Short coffee-stop at Norebyns coffee-shop.This is a challeging drive and will put driver and car to the test as we are driving over Brudfjället!  
Safely arrived in Håverud, we park the cars along the canal and walk around the craftstores, looking at aqueduct, Canal museum, etc.

Lunch will be served in the "Brasserie" by the canal. Driving back  you can go back the same way or ELKWARNING! take the easy way out towards Mellerud, road 45 and then onwards road 44 to Uddevalla, then E6 (direction Oslo) to the hotel.

7 pm Guest demonstration and tasting.. of Mackmyra - SWEDISH WHISKEY in the hotel, followed by SWEDISH EVENING dinner.

Breakfast buffet 07.00 - 09.00 am.  At 10.00 am sharp we set of in convoy  for a countrydrive to Rohdins RR & Bentley garage in Trollhättan. They will guide us around their workshops.
A light lunch will be served on the premises. Followed by a short  drive to see the mighty waterfalls of Trollhättan (letting out 3000 liters of water per second!)  ELKS.. BE CAREFUL!!! Gathering back at the hotel for our gala-night, with champagne reception and farewelldinner, entertainment by "The Old Stones"
